Iran Speeds Up Gas Processing Plant Restoration Amid Wartime Conditions
Iran's Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Hamid Bovard announced that the restoration process for damaged gas processing plants has accelerated, particularly at three facilities belonging to the South Pars Gas Company.
The restoration effort comes after a series of air strikes against Iran in March 2026, which reduced the country's gas production and caused significant damage to the gas infrastructure. Bovard emphasized the importance of maintaining gas production levels amid wartime conditions.
NIOC Managing Director Saeid Tavakkoli acknowledged that the strikes on gas processing plants were 'deeply regrettable' and that efforts are being made to clear the damage at affected facilities.
