Iran Targets US Warships in Strait of Hormuz Amid Escalating Conflict
The conflict between Iran and the US escalated over the weekend as Iran claimed to have targeted two US warships, including an aircraft carrier, in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the IRGC, the Aerospace Force launched ballistic missiles at the two vessels, causing them to withdraw from the area. The IRGC stated that the ships had been harassing Iranian ships and were part of a maritime blockade.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) acknowledged that two Navy warships were targeted but claimed they successfully evaded the attacks without sustaining any damage or harm to personnel.
The incident comes after the US struck three oil tankers linked to the IRGC, which Iran condemned as 'illegal and aggressive actions.'
