Iran Tensions Spark Oil Price Surge Amid Regional Violence
A surge in oil prices has been triggered by attacks on US targets in Iran and Syria.
The escalation of tensions between the US and Iran has led to a wave of Iranian attacks targeting US bases across the region, including Jordan, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region.
This comes after extensive US bombardment hit sites across Iran, resulting in at least 19 Iranian deaths, including four at a wedding, which Tehran has slammed as a 'war crime'.
In related news, nearly 5,000 trucks per day carry oil from the Persian Gulf across Syria's desert toward the Mediterranean Sea, initially as an experiment by Iraqi oil exporters to circumvent the Strait of Hormuz after cargo traffic was stopped by the US-Israeli war with Iran.
