Iran Threatens Regional Infrastructure Attack Unless Security Guaranteed

Tehran has threatened to attack regional infrastructure in the Middle East if its security is not guaranteed, according to Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Ghalibaf stated that 'in a region where we cannot sell oil, no one else will sell oil either; or if our security is not guaranteed, no infrastructure will remain safe.'

The threat comes as the US and Iran continue to negotiate over the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping route through which a fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas passes.
