Iran Threatens Retaliation Against Middle East Energy Facilities

Tehran has threatened to retaliate against Saudi Arabia's Ghawar oil field and other key energy facilities across the Middle East if US President Donald Trump orders new strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure, according to Iran's state-affiliated Tasnim News Agency.

The reported target list also includes the UAE's Zakum oil field and Ruways refinery, which has a processing capacity of over 1 million barrels per day, as well as Qatar's North Field and Ras Laffan, which together account for approximately 20% of global liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade.

A senior Iranian security official claimed that Iran had bombed Qatar's most vital gas refinery during a 40-day war in the past, stating 'We have prepared a comprehensive plan to respond to any potential American recklessness.'
