Iran Threatens Retaliation Against US Energy Targets Amid Escalating Tensions
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warned senior officials in Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia that the country would retaliate decisively if US forces launch fresh attacks on Iranian targets.
Araqchi made these comments during separate phone calls with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Pakistani Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Saturday. According to Araqchi's Telegram account, he discussed the consequences of 'destabilizing actions' by the US, as well as prospects for heightened regional insecurity.
The threat comes after Kuwait's army said it destroyed hostile drones launched by Iran against several vital facilities. Nournews, a media outlet affiliated with Iran's top security body, stated that US attacks on Iranian energy infrastructure would prompt Iranian strikes on oil fields in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the gas fields of Qatar and Israel.
