Iran Unveils Major Gas Discovery in Fars Province
Iran has announced a major gas discovery in its Fars Province, according to Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad. The newly discovered field holds more than 7.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, marking a significant milestone in Iran's exploration strategy.
This find comes at a critical time for the country's economy and follows recent exploration successes in the region, including the nearby Pazan field. Initial estimates suggest that the new field could produce thousands of days' worth of gas from the massive South Pars field.
The discovery is part of an ongoing exploration push stretching from southern Fars Province into northern Bushehr Province. Oil Ministry officials expect fields in this specific southern cluster to take roughly 40 months to fully develop before commercial production yields results.
