The average price of a gallon of gasoline has increased by $1.26 over the past year, while diesel prices have surged by $2.74 per gallon.

Average gas and oil prices in New York State are now around 65 cents higher than they were last September, with heating oil costs rising by about 60 percent since the war broke out in late February.

Households that use heating oil will face significant increases this winter, while those who rely on electricity or natural gas for heat may see smaller cost rises.
