Iran War Spreads to Red Sea and Caspian as US Strikes Pause
The Iran war has spread to the Red Sea and Caspian Sea, despite a pause in US strikes. The Houthi rebels, aligned with Iran, attacked Saudi oil installations along the Red Sea coast on Saturday. In response, Saudi-led coalition forces struck Houthi launch sites and arms depots in Yemen's Marib and al-Jawf provinces.
US Central Command said its naval blockade against Iran 'remains in full effect' but did not explain why it halted a streak of 13 nights of escalating strikes. A senior official in President Donald Trump's administration stated that Trump prefers diplomacy, but has shown Iran what will happen if they fail to come to the table.
The US military disabled a ship whose crew attempted to run the blockade despite 'repeated warnings' on Friday in the Gulf of Oman. Meanwhile, Ukraine was accused by Iran of attacking an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea, resulting in an explosion that killed a sailor and injured another.
