Iranian Currency Plummets Amid Ongoing Conflict
The Iranian currency has hit a new record low, dropping to over 2.5 million rials per US dollar in Tehran. This marks a significant decline from its previous low of 2.2 million rials on September 2.
The economy has been under strain due to international sanctions, but the war in the Middle East and a US naval blockade on Iranian oil have exacerbated the situation.
Iran's top diplomat, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, said that indirect negotiations with the US aimed at reopening the critical Strait of Hormuz have become 'more serious.' He stated that Qatari intermediaries will soon engage with the US side to raise the matter and convey a final response to Iran.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps' chief spokesman, Gen. Hossein Mohebbi, made an appeal to everyday Americans to pressure their government to end the US war against Iran. He claimed that the only way for the war to end is for Washington to admit defeat and leave the Mideast.
