Iranian Oil Exports Slowing as Production Meets Domestic Needs

An Iranian tanker was spotted loading crude oil at Kharg Island for the first time since late July, according to maritime tracking service TankerTrackers. The National Iranian Tanker Company's Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) was seen unloading 2 million barrels of crude at the Azarpad jetty on August 14.

Iran has continued loading tankers at other terminals, with oil production reportedly in line with refinery runs and domestic consumption. This suggests that the country may not need to export significant volumes of crude, TankerTrackers said.
