Gold Futures Climb as Silver Prices Edge Higher

International gold and silver prices closed higher on Friday.

The New York Mercantile Exchange saw December gold futures rise by 0.38 percent to settle at $4,437.30 per ounce, while September silver futures gained 0.18 percent to close at $65.108 per ounce.

The European stock markets closed mixed across the board on Friday, with the UK's FTSE 100 index falling 0.21 percent, France's CAC 40 index shedding 0.16 percent, and Germany's DAX index climbing 0.53 percent.
