An Iranian commercial vessel was struck in waters near the southern island of Qeshm on September 13, resulting in one death and three injuries. According to Qeshm Governor Amir Teymouri, the vessel was hit at around 5 a.m. local time in an area between Hengam Island and the village of Shib Deraz.

The incident has been described as an 'attack by the terrorist enemy' by state broadcaster IRIB, but no country or group has claimed responsibility for the strike.

This attack comes amid escalating tensions in the region, with multiple incidents reported in recent weeks involving commercial shipping and oil tankers.
