Iran's recent blacklist of 45 tankers has begun to reshape global oil shipping, as major companies and refiners reconsider their use of vessels that may face fines or confiscation in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Reuters, at least three Indian oil refiners and one major global energy company are planning to stop using blacklisted tankers for ship-to-ship transfers, marking a significant shift in the standoff between Iran and the US.

The Persian Gulf Strait Authority has threatened fines, detention, and possible cargo confiscation for vessels on the list, while warning that ships conducting transfers with blacklisted tankers could face consequences.

Several oil buyers and shipping companies are reviewing their exposure to blacklisted vessels, amid fears that Iran could seize ships or cargoes moving through the Strait of Hormuz, which remains severely disrupted due to ongoing conflict.
