Iran's Economy on Brink of Collapse as Oil Supplies Dwindle
US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant has warned that Iran's economy is on the brink of collapse, predicting it could happen within two weeks. The reason for this dire forecast is the dwindling supply of Iranian oil, with only 15 million barrels left to be transported by sea. According to Besant, once these remaining barrels are sold, Tehran will have nothing left to trade.
Besant's comments were made in an interview with Fox News, where he also highlighted the impact of US economic sanctions on Iran. The country's banks and crypto wallets have been targeted, while Iranian airlines are being isolated from the global market due to the restrictions.
Despite these challenges, Besant defended President Donald Trump's economic policies, citing their positive effects on the US economy. He noted that deregulation has led to increased economic growth, with benefits extending to both large and small businesses. However, his focus remained on the potential collapse of Iran's economy, stating that the country is 'on its knees'.
