Iran's Economy on Brink of Collapse as Sanctions Bite
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent updated the public on Operation Economic Outcast, the U.S. sanctions against Iran. He stated that the regime's economy will likely collapse within two weeks due to a lack of oil deliveries.
The Treasury Secretary pointed out that there are only 15 million more barrels of Iranian oil left in transit before Iran will have nothing left to trade for anything. He believes that this is why the Iranian government wants a deal, as they are feeling the pressure and desperate.
Bessent emphasized that the U.S. has been successful in limiting Iranian oil exports, averaging 15-22 million barrels per day. This compares to 20 million barrels pre-conflict, with Iran's exports being significantly reduced due to sanctions.
