Iran's Fuel Supply Remains Stable Despite South Pars Output Drop
The Iranian oil ministry's news service, SHANA, reported that despite a recent drop in South Pars output, fuel supply to the country remains stable. According to Saeid Tavakoli, gas deliveries to industries and small businesses have increased by 1 billion cubic meters compared to last year.
Tavakoli acknowledged difficulties in ensuring sustained gas supplies following the incidents at South Pars, which resulted in a 14% lower volume of gas delivered to the network. However, he noted that the share going to power plants was roughly unchanged.
The figures show that gas met 85% of power plants' fuel needs this year, compared to 86% last year. Tavakoli stated that the resilience of the national gas network under difficult conditions is a testament to successful crisis management and network stability.
