Iran's Oil Exports Defied War Blockade

Tehran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad confirmed on Thursday evening that Iran's crude oil exports continued unabated throughout the 40-day war, despite a naval blockade. The minister stated that sales and deliveries kept pace from February 28th until the announcement of the temporary ceasefire.

Paknejad emphasized that the oil sector maintained its operations despite being bombed and suffering worker casualties. To ensure continued export and delivery of oil to buyers, Iran implemented special measures, which included transferring large quantities of crude oil during periods of calm to areas far from blockade zones.

The minister also confirmed the continuation of projects to increase oil and gas production, including a project to raise oil production by 250,000 barrels per day. So far, approximately 70,000 to 80,000 barrels per day have been achieved.

In addition, development work at the South Pars field is ongoing, with over 30 new wells entering the production phase and contributing to an increase in natural gas production.
