Iran's Oil Minister Resigns Amid Economic Pressures
Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has resigned without giving any reason for his departure. He had been in office since August 2024 and has been dealing with the economic pressure from the seven-month war between Iran and the US.
The country's president, Dr. Pezeshkian, accepted Paknejad's resignation, and Hamid Bovard, the chief executive of the National Iranian Oil Company, will take over as acting oil minister.
