Iran's Oil Minister Resigns Amid Ongoing US Conflict
Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has resigned from his position, effective immediately. The news comes as Iran is still reeling from a seven-month war with the US that has put significant pressure on its economy.
Paknejad had been serving as oil minister since August 2024 and was replaced by Hamid Bovard, chief executive of the government-owned National Iranian Oil Company. Bovard will now take charge of the ministry in an acting capacity until a permanent replacement is found.
