Iran's Seven-Day Peace Plan Tabled as Trump and Xi Discuss Middle East War

US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed the Middle East war during their summit on Friday, as Iran pressed for a seven-day plan to end fighting in the region.

The Strait of Hormuz has been disrupted by Iranian threats on tankers, affecting China's oil imports. Xi urged Washington and Tehran to return to the June framework agreement that led to a short-lived ceasefire.

Iran welcomed Xi's push for diplomacy but emphasized its own peace proposal, which includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz within seven days if certain conditions are met. The US has yet to respond to this offer.
