Iraq and Sonangol Team Up to Boost Oil Production at Qayara Field
The Deputy Minister of Oil for Extraction Affairs in Iraq, Naseer Aziz Jabbar, met with officials from Angolan oil company Sonangol to discuss plans to develop the Qayara Oil Field in Nineveh Governorate.
The meeting was attended by the acting Director General of the North Oil Company and other relevant authorities. The discussion focused on developing the field and increasing crude oil production rates, as well as exploring options for transporting, marketing, and exporting the produced oil.
The Qayara Integrated Refinery Project was also addressed during the meeting, with a focus on utilizing the field's production to enhance refining capacity and ensure the availability of petroleum products. This project is seen as crucial in supporting the Ministry's plans to develop the oil sector in Nineveh Governorate.
