Iraq and Turkey Sign Deal for 750,000 BPD Oil Export Through Ceyhan
Iraq and Turkey have signed a one-year agreement to transport and load Iraqi crude oil through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline to the Turkish port of Ceyhan, with a minimum flow rate of 750,000 barrels per day.
The deal was announced on August 2, 2026, and is seen as a stepping stone towards a broader arrangement that will raise export capacity beyond one million barrels per day once the Basra-Haditha-Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline is completed.
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi welcomed the agreement, describing it as an important strategic milestone that ensures uninterrupted oil export flows and strengthens economic cooperation between the two countries.
