Iraq Gold Prices Stabilize in Baghdad but Decline in Erbil
Gold prices in Iraq have stabilized in Baghdad markets, but declined slightly in Erbil. On Sunday, gold was sold at around 1 million IQD per mithqal (five grams) on Baghdad's Al-Nahr Street for 21-carat gold from Gulf, Turkish, and European varieties. The selling price stood at 1,006,000 IQD, with a buying price of 1,002,000 IQD.
The same gold had sold for 1,006,000 IQD on Saturday, indicating no significant change in prices over the past day. In jewelry stores, the selling price per mithqal of 21-carat Gulf gold ranged between 1,005,000 and 1,015,000 IQD, while Iraqi gold sold for between 975,000 and 985,000 IQD.
In Erbil, gold prices were lower than in Baghdad. The selling price for 22-carat gold was 1,035,000 IQD per mithqal, while 21-carat gold was sold at 988,000 IQD, and 18-carat gold at 847,000 IQD.
