Iraqi Crude Prices Plunge Over 6% Amid Global Oil Market Downturn
Iraq's crude oil prices dropped significantly on Wednesday, mirroring a broader decline in global markets. The Basrah Heavy crude price fell to $77.92 per barrel, down by more than 6% or $5.27. Meanwhile, the Basrah Medium grade lost value, dipping to $81.22 per barrel with a decrease of $5.27 or 6.09%.
The international market also saw a decline in oil prices, with Brent crude slipping to $86.80 per barrel, down by 2%. West Texas Intermediate fell to $80.87, losing 1.8% in value. Other regional grades, including Murban, Oman, and Dubai crudes, also experienced losses.
The global downturn in oil prices resulted in a more than 6% drop for Iraqi crude oil prices. This decline highlights the interconnectedness of global oil markets, where regional price fluctuations can be influenced by broader trends.
