Iraqi Gold Prices Hold Steady at Historic Levels
Gold prices in Iraq remained stable on Tuesday, holding steady at levels seen the previous day. In Baghdad's Al-Nahr Street wholesale market, 21-carat gold was sold for 960,000 dinars per mithqal and bought for 956,000 dinars, unchanged from Monday morning.
Iraqi 21-carat gold also saw no change in price, selling at 930,000 dinars per mithqal and being bought for 926,000 dinars. At retail jewelry shops, prices ranged between 960,000 to 970,000 dinars per mithqal for 21-carat Gulf gold, while Iraqi gold was priced between 930,000 to 940,000 dinars.
In Erbil, prices were also stable, with 22-carat gold selling at 993,000 dinars per mithqal, 21-carat at 950,000 dinars, and 18-carat at 813,000 dinars. The price of Iraq's 21-carat gold has surpassed one million dinars per mithqal for the first time on January 21, 2026.
