Iraqi Leaders Slam Drone Attacks on Saudi Arabia as Threat to National Security

Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, leader of the Sadrist movement in Iraq, released a statement on social media platform X, denouncing the militias' actions and calling them 'dangerous.'
The US and Saudi Arabia launched coordinated airstrikes on Iran-backed groups in several Iraqi provinces on Wednesday in response to drone assaults carried out by militias against US interests and oil facilities in Saudi Arabia.
Iraqi officials confirmed that the country will not be used to launch attacks against countries in the region, with Baghdad initiating investigations into cross-border drone assaults to strengthen national sovereignty.
