Petrobras Smashes Production Records with 14.1% Q2 Growth
Petrobras reported a record-breaking production of oil and natural gas in the second quarter of 2026, reaching 3.34 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), up 14.1% from the same period last year and 3.4% from the first quarter of this year.
The growth was driven primarily by increased operational efficiency and the production ramp-up of several key assets, including the Maria Quitéria FPSO in the Jubarte field, Alexandre de Gusmão FPSO in the Mero field, P-78 FPSO in the Búzios field, and P-79 FPSO in the same field.
The company also achieved significant milestones, including the start of production from P-79, which came online three months ahead of schedule. The platform has a production capacity of 180,000 barrels per day (bpd) and gas compression capacity of 7.2 million cubic meters per day.
