A high-profile Iraqi security delegation has arrived in Saudi Arabia for key talks, amid tensions over drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities. The delegation is led by Abdul-Amir al-Shammari, director of the office of Iraq's commander-in-chief of the armed forces, and includes Intelligence Service chief Hamid al-Shatri.

The visit comes after Baghdad denied claims that the drone attacks originated from Iraqi territory. Riyadh had stated that the drone attacks were carried out by Iran-backed militias in Iraq, but there is no evidence to substantiate this claim.

The talks will address a number of security files and shared issues, including ways to enhance security coordination and cooperation between the two countries.
