Iraq's Oil Exports Hit Record Highs Amid Geopolitical Tensions
Baghdad's oil exports surged to 3 million barrels per day in August, according to Iraqi Oil Minister Basim Khudair. The ministry confirmed that approximately 70 million barrels were exported during the month.
The significant increase was largely due to deals reached with Turkey to transport oil through the port of Ceyhan, which added an additional 600,000 barrels per day to the exports.
However, the figure has since declined to around 2.4 million barrels per day in September, but still surpasses the average daily exports in August of approximately 2.35 million barrels.
