Ireland's Harvest Price Schedules Expected by Month End

Farm lobby groups in Ireland expect all key grain buyers to publish their harvest 2026 price schedules by the end of this month. This follows Centenary Co-op Thurles' confirmation of its new pricing arrangements, which include projected prices for feed barley at €225/t, feed wheat at €237/t, and oats at €220/t.

Clive Carter, secretary of the Irish Grain Growers Group (IGGG), said that they expect all grain merchants to match or exceed Centenary's commitment. However, he noted that this price schedule will only allow tillage farmers to 'keep their heads above water' due to the immense pressure on input costs.

Carter emphasized that there is no scope for cereal growers to consolidate their businesses or invest in the future with these prices. He also highlighted the frustration among growers that global grain prices have not risen more sharply, despite the impact of drought conditions on yields throughout Europe in 2026.
