IRGC Navy Targets Seven Oil Tankers in Five Days Amid Tensions
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has targeted at least seven oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz over the past five days, according to Fars news agency.
The incidents began on February 28, when Iran responded to joint US-Israeli attacks with waves of missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and US bases. The IRGC tightened its grip on the strait, barring safe passage for vessels belonging to or affiliated with Israel and the United States.
Fars reported that two oil tankers were exploded in the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, one at the entrance and another while exiting. MenchOsint, an independent military observer, identified the affected vessels as Kuwaiti tanker Al FUNTAS and UAE vessel SINBAD over the previous four days.
