IRGC Targets Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz Amid Tensions with West

Iran's Revolutionary Guards have reportedly struck an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, according to state news agency IRNA. The incident occurred on Thursday night and involved a fire breaking out on board the Togo-flagged oil tanker 'Trend', which was allegedly attempting an 'illegal passage'.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) also reported that a ship was hit by an unknown projectile, causing a fire that was subsequently extinguished. The monitoring agency had previously reported a 'security incident' in Hormuz on Thursday night without giving further details.
