Israel Plans to Boost Natural Gas Output
The Israeli Energy Ministry has announced plans to boost natural gas output in the country. The move aims to increase competition within Israel and enhance exports, particularly to neighboring countries such as Egypt and Jordan.
An inter-ministerial committee headed by the ministry has issued final recommendations to meet domestic needs, encourage investment, and accelerate the transition to renewable energy.
The key recommendation is to encourage investment in the exploration and development of new natural gas reservoirs, both offshore and onshore. This will be done through competitive bidding processes for exploration and by encouraging seismic and other surveys.
Additionally, the panel has recommended creating an attractive investment environment and maintaining a thriving sector. This includes promoting competition within the domestic market to ensure stable prices.
