Japan Secures Sufficient LNG Supplies for Peak Summer Demand Season
Japan's largest LNG buyer has secured sufficient supplies for the peak summer demand season from August to October, according to Channel News Asia.
A company executive stated that there are no issues regarding stable power supply, despite previous concerns about energy imports due to war-related disruptions in export flows.
The executive attributed this success to diversifying LNG purchases from non-Middle Eastern suppliers, particularly the United States, which has emerged as a low-risk supplier of liquefied natural gas.
JERA, Japan's largest buyer of LNG, has significantly reduced its purchases from Qatar and will ensure adequate supply for the winter season through its global trading division.
