Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan has marked the start of construction for an onshore gasification unit project, which is expected to cost nearly JD 90 million and become operational by mid-next year.

The new unit will have a capacity of up to 700 million cubic feet per day as part of the development of the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Port for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

This project aims to provide an alternative to the floating storage and regasification vessel, increase energy reserves, and improve Jordan's energy infrastructure.

The onshore unit will enable Jordan to import LNG from multiple suppliers worldwide, ensuring a secure and stable energy supply for the country.
