Jordan Secures Gas Supply Contracts with Petrojet and TAQA Arabia Group
Jordan has secured contracts to supply natural gas to two major industrial cities through support and financing from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development. The contracts were signed by Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, along with representatives from Petrojet and TAQA Arabia Group.
The projects aim to reduce energy costs across economic sectors, particularly industry, and provide an alternative energy source for various sectors. This is expected to improve industrial competitiveness, facilitate access to new markets, support production expansion, and create jobs.
The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development has provided a total of AED9.4 billion in financial support to Jordan over the years, with Mohammed Al Suwaidi, its director-general, stating that the fund's relationship with Jordan dates back to 1974.
