Jordan Signs Multi-Million Dollar Contracts for Industrial Gas Supplies
Two industrial cities in Jordan will soon receive natural gas supplies after the country signed $70 million contracts for two separate projects. The funding comes from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, as part of a memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian government to finance several development projects.
The Muwaqqar Industrial City project was awarded to a consortium consisting of Petrojet and Ahmad Yousef Tarawneh and Partner, while TAQA Arabia Group will supply Rawda Industrial City in the Ma'an Development Area with natural gas. The contracts were signed during a ceremony attended by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh and Abu Dhabi Fund for Development Director General Mohamed Suwaidi.
Kharabsheh expressed appreciation for the United Arab Emirates' continued support for Jordan, highlighting that these projects form part of the Kingdom's strategy to reduce energy costs across economic sectors. He noted that they will enable factories to reduce production costs, improve competitiveness, and access new markets.
