Jordan Targets Record Gas Production for Industrial Clusters

The Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has set an ambitious goal to reach production at the Risha gas field of approximately 418 million cubic feet per day by 2029. This target is significant, as it surpasses the country's power grid demand of around 330-340 million cubic feet per day.

Energy Minister Saleh Al-Kharabsheh emphasized that the ministry is actively working to deliver natural gas to various industrial clusters across the Kingdom as part of its strategic vision. The plan aims to connect gas to these clusters within three years, which will contribute to supplying energy at competitive prices.

The minister highlighted the importance of delivering gas to industries located outside major industrial zones via tanker trucks, using compressed natural gas (CNG) stations. Currently, there are three gas compression and transport stations in operation, serving various economic sectors.
