K LINE Delivers LNG Carrier Puteri Kelantan to Petronas LNG

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd., which operates under the name K LINE, has delivered a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier to Petronas LNG Ltd. The vessel, Puteri Kelantan, was handed over on September 24, 2026, at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd in China.

The joint venture company headed by K LINE owns the vessel. This ship belongs to the same category as two earlier vessels that were delivered for PLL during May and June 2026.

On September 2, 2026, a naming ceremony was conducted for the vessel. Those present included delegates from PLL, the shipyard, Bank of Communications Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., the vessel's financier, China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd. and China Merchants Financial Leasing Co., Ltd.

Delivery of these two new vessels is intended to reinforce PLL's fleet and assist in dependable LNG supply to PLL's customers. Within its Medium-Term Management Plan released in May 2022, K LINE identified the LNG business as a leading priority for its future investments.
