K Line Delivers Third LNG Carrier to Petronas LNG This Year
K Line has delivered its third liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier this year to Petronas LNG. The vessel, named Puteri Kelantan, was handed over at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China on September 24, 2026.
The ship is owned by a joint venture led by K Line and is part of the company's expansion into LNG, which it has identified as a priority area for future investment. The Puteri Kelantan will strengthen Petronas LNG's fleet and support reliable deliveries to its customers.
A naming ceremony was held on September 2, attended by representatives from Petronas LNG, the shipyard, Bank of Communications Financial Leasing, China Merchants Energy Shipping, China Merchants Financial Leasing, and K Line. A sister vessel, Puteri Negeri Sembilan, was also named during the ceremony and is scheduled for delivery in November 2026.
K Line's Medium-Term Management Plan, published in May 2022, outlines the company's goal of expanding long-term contracts and responding to growing energy demand by addressing customers' diverse requirements.
