Kalimati Market Sets Wholesale Prices for Fruits and Vegetables in Kathmandu
The Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable Market Development Committee has set wholesale prices for various agricultural produce in Kathmandu. The committee determined that the maximum wholesale price per kilogram is as follows: tomato large (Nepali) Rs 60, tomato large (Indian) Rs 80, potato red (long) Rs 51, and many other items.
The prices include tomato small (tunnel) at Rs 45, carrot (local) at Rs 120 per kg, cabbage (local) at Rs 35 per kg, cauliflower local at Rs 100 per kg, and eggplant long at Rs 60 per kg. The committee also fixed the price of mushroom (cane) at Rs 300 per kg, and king mushroom at Rs 330 per kg.
The prices were determined for various other items such as beans vine, corn beans, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, pumpkin ripe, sweet potato, taro, chayote, mustard greens, spinach, radish greens, onion (green), and many others. The prices range from Rs 30 to over Rs 1000 per kg.
