Kalshi Targets CFTC Approval for WTI Perpetual Futures Launch

Kalshi, the U.S.-based prediction-market platform, is planning to launch a perpetual futures product tied to West Texas Intermediate crude prices. If approved by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Kalshi would be the first regulated exchange in the U.S. to offer this type of product.

The contract will allow traders to maintain leveraged positions without having to roll contracts into the next delivery month, a feature not available with standard crude futures. The perpetual futures product is designed to trade 24 hours a day, five days a week.

Kalshi has already received approval from the CFTC for its launch of perpetual futures in May, but that was limited to cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin. A separate review is required for products tied to physical commodities like crude oil.
