Karpowership-Backed Kinetics Expands Gas Infrastructure Fleet with FSRU Conversion

Kinetics, an initiative backed by Karpowership, is expanding its fleet of gas infrastructure vessels through the conversion of an LNG carrier into a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).

The converted vessel, to be named LNGT Akdeniz, will have a multi-spec unit design with approximately 143,000 cubic meters of storage capacity and a regasification flow rate of 650 million standard cubic feet per day.

This move is part of Kinetics' efforts to meet the growing demand for flexible energy solutions. According to Mehmet Katmer, General Manager of Kinetics, 'The global LNG market continues to show strong demand for flexible, rapidly deployable regasification infrastructure.'

The delivery of the converted vessel is expected in Q3 2028.
