Kazakhstan and Germany Team Up on European Oil and Gas Supplies
Kazakhstan and Germany have agreed to cooperate on energy security, including oil and gas supplies to Europe, in a declaration adopted by the presidents of both countries following a visit to Berlin.
The document highlights the importance of strengthening energy security and diversifying energy supply sources and routes. The parties intend to develop cooperation within the framework of the Kazakh-German Energy Dialogue and through the H2-Diplo office in Astana.
The declaration also welcomes cooperation between Central Asian countries and Germany in the C5+1 format, with plans for a new summit in the near future. This strategic regional partnership was launched at the first Central Asia-Germany summit on September 29, 2023, in Berlin and further developed at the second summit on September 17, 2024, in Astana.
