Kazakhstan has significantly increased its grain exports to key Asian markets in September. The country's rail network played a crucial role, transporting a record 1.45 million tons of grain during the month.

The largest share of these shipments went to China and Afghanistan, with exports to China rising 2.8-fold to 188 thousand tons, while those to Afghanistan increased 3.4-fold to 107 thousand tons.

Kazakhstan's rail network also handled a notable increase in grain processing product exports, shipping 230 thousand tons abroad in September, up 27% year-on-year.

For the first nine months of the year, Kazakhstan has transported 10.8 million tons of grain by rail, including 8.4 million tons for export. If this pace continues, annual grain rail shipments could reach 14-15 million tons.
