Kazakhstan's Economy Maintains Growth Amid Oil Production Decline
Kazakhstan's economy has continued its stable growth path in the first seven months of this year, with a GDP growth rate of 4.1 percent. This is consistent with the level seen in the first half of the year.
The non-resource sector drove economic growth, increasing by 5.4 percent during the same period. The manufacturing sector was also a key contributor, growing at a strong 9 percent. Several industries within this sector experienced double-digit increases, including machinery production (22 percent), food production (13.9 percent), and pharmaceuticals (38.5 percent).
The government's efforts to diversify the economy through industrial capacity strengthening and infrastructure improvements appear to be paying off. Oil production, which accounted for 7.8 percent of GDP in 2025, declined by 8.9 percent to 53.2 million tons.
