Kerala Seeks Reduced LPG Waiting Period During Onam Festivities

Kerala's State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob has written to Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri requesting a reduction in the waiting period for domestic cooking gas supply during Onam.

The current waiting period is 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas, but Minister Jacob points out that this will adversely affect families during the festival season when there is additional demand for LPG.

He also notes that households require more cooking gas than average consumption during Onam, as many people come home to spend the festive season with their loved ones.
