Khor Mor Gas Output Restored as Dana Gas Sees Security Guarantees
Dana Gas, the Middle East's first and largest private-sector natural gas company, has announced plans to gradually restore output at its Khor Mor gas field in Iraq. The move follows a renewed review of the security situation, with the company receiving formal guarantees from both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Iraqi federal government.
The Khor Mor field produces natural gas, condensates, and other gas-related products, with Dana Gas aiming to restore production to its maximum capacity by Tuesday. The primary goal of the increased output is to ensure a stable supply of natural gas to power generation plants, helping meet electricity demand across the Kurdistan Region and other parts of Iraq.
Dana Gas has been cautious in its approach, reducing production at the field due to security concerns. However, with the recent reassurances from authorities, the company is now increasing output in phases.
