Natural gas from the Khor Mor field in Iraq's Kurdistan Region has begun flowing to the country's power sector under a supply deal announced by Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum on Tuesday. The agreement, signed in December 2025, calls for the delivery of 100 million standard cubic feet per day to the Taza gas-fired power plant in Kirkuk province for an initial one-year term.

The companies confirmed that production capacity at the Khor Mor processing facility increased by 50% to 750 million standard cubic feet per day after the Khor Mor 250 expansion entered service in October 2025. This has made additional volumes available through Iraq's national pipeline network.

Majid Jafar, CEO of Crescent Petroleum and managing director of Dana Gas, called the first deliveries 'an important milestone' for the KRI's gas sector, saying they would help meet rising electricity demand and improve services.
